03Search optimization
Search foundations on every site we build, and ongoing optimization on higher plans. No guarantees, because nobody can honestly make them.
What you get
set up on Growth, actively optimized on Scale. For a local business this is often the highest-return thing available, because the map results sit above everything else.
Local listings and directories, with your name, address and phone identical everywhere — inconsistency is what makes search engines unsure two listings are the same business.
Content built around real searches, rather than whatever we felt like writing.
Visitor and conversion insight, so you can see which pages actually produce enquiries.
Monthly performance reporting on Scale — traffic, leads and uptime, summarised in plain language.
Search-friendly page structure, unique titles and descriptions, structured data, a sitemap submitted to Google, and fast, crawlable pages.
These are the foundations, and they're not an upsell — a site without them is one search engines struggle to read at all. What they don't do on their own is beat established competitors for competitive terms. That takes ongoing work.
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's results, and promising a position isn't a promise anyone can keep.
What we can do is create as many of the right conditions as possible: pages that match what people actually search for, a site that loads fast and can be crawled, a properly finished Google Business Profile, and consistent listings elsewhere. That is what moves rankings, and it compounds.
Brand searches for your own name work almost immediately. Competitive local terms realistically take two to six months of consistent work.
A new domain has no track record, and search engines are slow to trust one. Anyone quoting faster than that on a competitive term is either selling something or counting searches for your business name, which you'd have won anyway.
Increasingly customers ask an assistant for a recommendation rather than searching. The useful thing to understand is that this is far less exotic than it sounds: assistants largely read the same web the search engines already index, so being findable in ordinary search is the prerequisite, not a competing strategy.
That means we don't sell it as a separate service, and we'd suggest being sceptical of anyone who does. The things that help are the same things that always helped — clear pages that answer real questions, a business that's properly described, and being mentioned on other people's sites. Ask us and we'll explain how AI assistants actually decide who to recommend.
The foundations are included in every build. Ongoing optimization — Google Business Profile work, advanced SEO, reporting — comes with the Growth and Scale plans rather than as a separate invoice.
Usually not on its own. Most of what makes a site rank is decided by how it's built, so optimizing a site with weak foundations is expensive and disappointing. We'll look and tell you honestly.
Finish your Google Business Profile completely and get reviews — asking every happy customer, and replying to all of them. For a local business that often outranks the website itself.
No. It breaches Google's guidelines, the risk lands on your domain rather than ours, and we've seen it damage businesses. There's plenty of legitimate ground to cover first.
